Troutman Photography joins roster of new businesses in Jefferson

Daniel and Clare Troutman have opened a home-based photography studio in Jefferson. Daniel takes the pictures while Clare takes care of the other details, marketing, sales, networking and anything in between. Troutman Photography is available for portraits, weddings, reunions, modeling shoots, as well as commercial photography. Daniel also does stock photography, which is taking photos of subjects like food or people and submitting them to magazines or selling the images on the Internet.

They bring the camera to the client, enabling photos to be taken of people in their favorite locations—be that on the seashore, in the mountains, in a park, etc. Clare said their main goal is for their clients to “have a relaxed, comfortable experience” so they’ll “feel secure in recommending Troutman Photography” to their friends.

Daniel Troutman began his career as a photographer when he was 16 years old. “His specialty and favorites,” said Clare, “are working with children, food photography and family portraits.” Daniel knew at an early age that he would do something artistic. “He actually wanted to go into film but chose photography because it allows for time spent with his own family.” It’s much easier to “work it around a family lifestyle,” said Clare.

Daniel specializes in children’s photography. A visit to their new website at www.troutmanphoto.com provides a sampling of some of his children’s photos as well as many other types of photography.

Clare noted they also have a blog at http://www.troutmanphoto.com/ that offers tips on hiring a photographer for a family reunion as well as giving guidelines for memorable senior portraits.

Having moved to Jefferson last year and getting the business actively running here in the last few months, they joined the Jefferson Area Chamber of Commerce in May. Clare serves on the Welcome Committee headed by Cathie Harrington. She said they moved to Jefferson because of its small school system and the close proximity to Salem.

The Troutman family consists of their three children—Darren (1), Danae (9) and Terra (11), along with their dog, Olive, a bull mastiff cross.
