Senior Portraits 2011

2009 Jefferson Oregon Graduating Seniors

2009 Jefferson Oregon Graduating Seniors

Those of you who know me know that my favorite sessions are often senior portraits.  During a session I get to meet some pretty fantastic people.  I learn about their plans for the future, what they’re going to miss about high school, and who had the biggest impact in their life.  They also keep me in the loop about styles, trends, and gossip.  Seniors have an energy about them that is almost contagious and I truly believe that it’s that energy that makes the images we capture together better.  Not to mention the overall portrait experience.

But like most things, what goes up must come down.  As I’m packing seniors pictures I get to thinking about this great new person that I’ve just met heading out into the world and I’m filled with the excitement I remember feeling when it was my turn.  It’s truly an emotional high.  But then I remember that most kids don’t stay in their home towns and that in all likelihood I may never see this person again.

So with a heavy heart I say goodbye to my senior portrait clients from the class of 2010.   It was an absolute pleasure knowing you.  Never lose sight of your dreams for the future or your memories of the past.  Now get out there, kick butt and take names!

All summer long I’ll be counting down to the new school year and the introduction of the class of 2011 by showing you some of my favorite images from the class of 2010.   Keep checking in and I’ll introduce you to some of the seniors from this class.  For you camera geeks I’ll also show you how I set up the shot, what camera setting I used and explain why each shot worked.  Parents of each senior are encouraged to post a little something about their child and camera geeks are encouraged to post questions.

Next week we will meet Jake.

BTW

I use the term “camera geek” with extreme respect and a sense of camaraderie.

See ya,
