Troutman Photography @ Café Noir
What’s better than really good coffee? Great art with wonderful coffee.
When you walk in the door at Café Noir the scent of fresh roasted coffee beans soothes your caffeine deprived brain. While standing in line your attention is captivated by nearby images. The pear seems so crisp, you can almost taste it. The strawberries in the print nearby appear fresh on the page and beg for chocolate. Further along the wall, a child smiles angelically from beneath the floppy ears of a dog costume.
Each day in April patrons of the coffee shop at 610 Marion St. N.E. are invited to peruse the photos of local photographer Daniel Troutman as they munch on crispy salads, freshly made sandwiches and sip from bowls of fragrant soup.
Cafe Noir owners Marlee Newton and Brionna Brouhard support local artists and welcome monthly art and photography shows. “We are happy to have our cafe be a backdrop for local talent,” adds Brouhard. Café Noir is open from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays. The Café is also open from 6-10 p.m. on Wednesday and 6-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Troutman has been shooting for more than 15 years. He said his favorite photo is his son’s first yawn.
“I wasn’t even trying to catch it, I was just so wrapped up in the moment; I didn’t even really know I’d taken the picture.”
Photographs by Troutman have been published by VH1, Newsweek, Full Sail Brewery, We Own the Nights and Dell Webb. He photographs children, food, senior portraits and the occasional wedding. Most of his clients are from referrals.
“The pictures turned out beautifully and I’d be happy to recommend you to anyone!” said recent mother of the bride, Cyndi Conrad-Rinehart. More of his work can be seen at http://www.troutmanphoto.com.
