Parental Suggestions for Children's Photography

Hannah and Kyle are friends of ours, so we didn’t have to work through the usual nervousness that we have to overcome with new clients, but it got me thinking about how stressful the first session with a new (to you) photographer can be.

Taiya

As I was setting up a complex set involving flowers, bunnies and a pink backdrop, I heard screams of absolute rage coming from this pint sized beauty queen. In the beginning of my career a child like this would have had me scanning my appointment book for another open date to reschedule the shoot. But that kind of move is just plain Bush League. So if any of you out there have had an experience like this I thought that I might impart some of my tips gathered (the hard way) over the years.

A Mini Portrait Session with Trenton

My nephew spent the afternoon with me at the studio yesterday and I took the opportunity to grab a few shots.  I’m telling you the best part of running your own photo studio is being able to spend time with the ones you love and being able to call it work. As you can tell we had a blast taking these pictures.  Thanks for looking, Daniel Troutman dan@Troutmanphoto.com 503-871-5505
