America is really a melting pot. America takes the world’s peoples and cultures and blends them into something that can only be called….American. It’s in that spirit that we Americans elected the hotdog as one of its favorite foods. Nothing says America like random bits of random animals squished up, liquefied and then cast into the shape of a German sausage. It’s this kind of meat related forward thinking that makes America the “greatest country in the world.” A title that almost went to Canada until it was discovered that Canadian bacon was actually ham. Hey Canada, when you cheat, you only cheat yourself. Anyway back to hotdogs which are not made of dogs (please don’t tell Canada). I decided it was time to add more food related images to my stock portfolio and I turned my sights on the all mighty hotdog. For those of you who aren’t regular readers of my blog (and I wouldn’t blame you if you weren’t) I shoot images for stock photography companies like istockphoto.com and Getty Images. A stock image is a generic image that publications can use to visually convey several concepts or ideas. I upload these images and they sell day [...]

Anything to avoid being eaten It’s time for Daniel’s always fabulous twist on his favorite holiday – Turkey day, I mean Thanksgiving. If it’s not squeeze cheese, salami and Ritz crackers, then if must be turkey – the drier the better. The humor however, is neither dry nor subtle in this latest batch of holiday images. Enjoy! Clare Troutman Troutman Photography 503.559.3106 www.troutmanphoto.com
