Interview with Daniel Troutman
How has Breast Cancer (or any cancer) made an impact on your life?
We lost my mom’s best friend of 30 years (my second mother really) to breast cancer. Seeing her go from larger than life, to less than a hundred pounds, made you realize how it could happen to anyone, at any time. If it could be helped at all – nobody should have to die like that.
Why did you want to get involved with Images for a Cure?
Photography preserves where we are, at that moment. Taking images that
celebrate life to benefit those who are facing death is a happy piece of irony. It just works for me.
Why are you a photographer?
Because otherwise I’d have to work for a living.
Seriously – I love what I do.
Tell us something interesting about your photography studio.
Our studio is actually a converted meat locker from way back when. Beautiful wooden panel walls – stays warm in the winter, cool in the summer.
