Holy workaholic Batman! Last month was busier than….well….It was so busy that I am way too tired to come up with a witty analogy.

Last month we saw every kind of customer imaginable. From family portraits and babies to senior portraits and a Halloween food drive. We had our best month ever and man did it come out of nowhere.

The cool part of all this is that we are seeing more new clients coming out of Portland and even Washington. I must say that is incredibly flattering to have people choosing to drive all that way just to do a shoot with us. Last month we also saw an increase in the amount of clients who are hiring us to do destination photo shoots.

As a photographer there is something very exciting about working in a fresh location and creating stunning images on the fly. We even did a pre wedding consultation with a couple who is getting married at Disneyland. You can bet we will devote an entire blog on that wedding.

AS FOR This month, it’s been wall to wall senior portraits. Earlier this month we had a chance to photograph Miss Alexis and I thought I’d show off some pics on this week’s blog. Miss Alexis (and her mom too!) was totally in to having her portraits done and even hit the back roads of Oregon to locate some cool locations for me.

I have no problem helping my clients decide what kind of look they are going for but when they already know it just makes the session that much more productive. We were able to grab a ton of great shots in much less time than it would have normally taken. That just ment that I got to go home early right? Never!!!! :)

I warn every one of my clients that I can take pictures all day and that if they get tired they need to tell me otherwise I’ll keep on shooting for hours. Anyway Miss Alexis was a total good sport and we ended up shooting for about 3 hours and only stopped because we ran out of light.

I truly appreciated all the hard work and preparation Alexis and her mother put into their portrait session and as you can see from the results, it paid off.

Later,
Daniel

Senior Portraits in Oregon

This was our first event with Cascade High and we truly enjoyed ourselves. We want to thank the students of Cascade High for making us feel welcome and we hope to see you again in the near future.

homecoming

What does a small town in Oregon, Axel Rose, and the return of the leopard print dress have in common?  OK to be honest Axel Rose and leapord  print have a long torrid (?) history together but let’s not go there.  I was referring to the “Welcome to the Jungle Homecoming Bash” hosted by Jefferson High School last Friday night.  We were invited to invade the inner sanctum of the jungle with all of our photography gear and capture the wildlife in it’s native habitat.  I am now trying very hard to suppress my inner crocodile hunter by not using the word ”Crikey” in this blog.  Anyway….we had a great time and got some great images.  We also captured some….let’s call them unique, images that we couldn’t resists posting to Facebook.  You can check them out here www.facebook.com/troutmanphoto .   I have to say as far as treks through the jungle go, this one was by far my favorite.  The natives were friendly, the music was good and I drank the water without getting sick.  What more can you ask for?   **A quick note** One of the things I love about working with Jefferson High is that the build such elaborate sets for use to use [...]
