wrote this for the WordSmith project, but liked it enough to keep it. Artist’s Complex We’re a team, even if I don’t pick up the camera, so both our personalities come into play – especially when it comes to confidence. Daniel suffers from what I consider the “traditional artists’ complex”. It might not be fair, it might not be right – but it is what I have experienced over the 10 years we’ve been together. Daniel sees himself either as god amongst men, or, most often, the lowliest worm that ever dared crawl the earth. Middle ground escapes him. The rest of the story

What it looks like behind the photographer So here’s the behind the scenes shot for the Fighter Jet Shoot.  It was also an opportunity for me (Clare) to get to take some snapshots of the artist.  I almost never pick up the camera (would you, if your spouse produced images like these???).  So we’ll let you in on the joke.  Here’s the real pictures from the Fighter Jet series. And some from the same set up  – while I’m busy ruining the illusion.   Daniel loves this kind of stuff – anything that he can play with – he enjoys getting his idea across – but this has a playful quality that he revels in. We can take a posed shot of your family against a background, but what we love is to turn your family loose on a park, or a playground, or your own backyard, and just stand back and observe. This is where we capture the most real, poignant memories.
